Vietnam Adoption Agency Program:
Vietnam Adoption Program Description: Families will make 1 trip to Vietnam to receive their child approximately 3-6 months after accepting a referral. Families will travel in small groups or individually and be accompanied by a bi-lingual Dillon staff person throughout their trip who will assist families in completing their child s adoption. Families should plan on a 2-3 week stay in Vietnam. Sightseeing & shopping will be included during the trip.
Humanitarian Work in Vietnam: Dillon International began working in southern Vietnam in 1999 providing various improvements to the living conditions of an identified orphanage. Since then, the agency has expanded its humanitarian relief efforts to a total of 5 provinces in southern Vietnam. Besides orphanage support for over 800 children in these provinces, Dillon is providing the funding for pediatric heart surgeries; education scholarships for impoverished children to remain in school and learn a trade; and supplying food, clothing, medicine, and seed money for business start-ups to impoverished families in several local communities who are struggling to survive. Dillon has also created a home for street children with no family to provide for them whereby they can receive a hot meal and safe shelter.
Requirements: Married couples and single women living alone, who
are between the ages of 25-55. Couples must be married a minimum of 2
years / 3-year minimum for second-time marriages. Both spouses must be
between the ages of 25-44 in order to adopt an infant. If either spouse
is between 45-49 years old, then the couple must be open to accepting
a child between 1-3 years of age. Single applicants must reside in AR,
KS, MO, OK, TX, or southern CA, unless they have adopted from Dillon before.
Single applicants between the ages of 25-44 may adopt an infant with single
applicants between 45-49 eligible to adopt a child between 1-3 years old.
All applicants aged 50-55 must be open to a child at least 3 years old
or older. Infants, toddlers and older children are all available for adoption
along with some children with special needs. Families may state their
gender preference in the child they would like to adopt, however, Dillon
can make no guarantee that a family will receive their preference since
more boys are received for referral than girls for placement. Families
wanting to adopt a girl will wait much longer for a referral than families
who are open to adopting a boy. Please call Dillon's Vietnam Program Director
for more information.
