Vietnam Adoption Agency Program:
Children's Home Society and Family Services (CHSFS)
Vietnam Adoption Program Description: CHSFS works with children's home centers in the provinces of Ben Tre, Vinh Long, Binh Thuan and Phu Tho.
This program is primarily an infant and toddler program; children are expected to range from 4 to 36 months at referral. Children will be no younger than 4 months at referral, and families wishing to adopt an infant must be open to 12 months at referral. We anticipate that families requesting infants will likely be referred children 8-10 months old.
Referral time is currently 12-14 months from the time the family s dossier is sent to Vietnam. Families should expect to travel to receive their child 4-5 months after they have accepted their referral. At least 1 parent must travel on this 2-3 week trip. Parents will receive their child within the first few days in country. Throughout the in-country trip, families are accompanied by CHSFS s in country staff members who assist with everything from the adoption paperwork to exploring the country and culture.
